Hi Richard I have repaired a few of these old tank sender units. Most of the time it is the earth coil spring that attaches to the float that breaks. I have cleaned them out and re soldered to spring back on. With regard to risk of creating a spark it is unlikely and petrol itself is not flammable, only the vapors it gives off is. In theory though I've never tried it, a naked flame will go out if immerse in petrol quick enough but I wouldn't advise anyone to try it either. Isn't this even more likely with the dodgy 'idiot > light' connection on the DeLorean sender? Always puzzled me, that. > > Rich H > DOC#365 > VIN#1274 > > > > DOC UK Website: www.deloreans.co.uk > Unsubscribe: doc-uk-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > ** Unless otherwise stated, all messages posted to the group are assumed public and may be printed in the club magazine ** > > Yahoo!
