No. The exhaust back box has one inlet and two outlets, so both exhaust pipes do blow gases out, but they aren't specific to L and R banks. You might be thinking of the air intake at the back corner of the rear windows. The one on the left is just cosmetic, and hides the electric aerial on later cars.
1. I remember seeing something about the twin exhausts on the De Lorean, and it said that one is actually an air intake, and the other releases gases. Is this true?
Only really because these engines are 20+ years old and most have spent ages sitting still at some point. However, there is a 170hp conversion that we perform at DMUK, which basically transforms the engine into its european equivalent. This requires the cat bypass pipe at least and the free-flow exhuast is recommended
2. Can you get more horsepower from the engine just be 'tinkering' about? I know about the extra power you can get by removing the catalytic converter.
In theory the limit is 200hp but this requires a lot of stuff the system doesn't come with. The price is extortionate andyuo can get more from the lump with some performance mods.
3. How much horsepower can the twin turbo engines produce, and what is the price range on the systems?
