I'm sure they'd stick well enough to the pontoon, even though it has had a liberal coating of black wax, it isn't dusty or "slippery". Hey, it won't be an expensive mistake if it does fall off :-)

Ah, you have a point. A lot of us have now got State Plates - several are using motorbike plates which are legal, but the rear bezel does not give thecorrect "margin" at top and bottom. Anyway, I was thinking UK plates :-)

I bought my plate after doing the maths and working out that it would fit with a full legal font and all the margins. It fits nicely.
