I'd agree. You think we could get 285Bhp out of this lump without a turbo? I doubt it... but then, there are some very clever people out there! A newer 24 valve lump could muster at least 250Bhp without sweating though... Also worth noting that two turbo's *could* mean more heat than one average sized one but I'm guessing here as I've only seen setup's like Supra's being in the front.. the A610 I drooled over for many hours was a twin setup but I can't remember how it worked (that is, it was a good year before I owned a D). You do bring up a very valid point here.. intercoolers. If your intercooler(s) is tiny and not well supplied with cool air there is no point having a turbo setup at all. It's the biggest reason my Calibra runs out of puff when it does... the intercooler I'm saving for is an 8.5 litre front mounted unit... and it's £600! Nice engine btw...
