Re: Bonnet + pics of the day

Hi Paul, everyone,

My bonnet has the same problem that you had, in that it sits proud at the windscreen end. I also think it sits slightly higher on the driver's side. I've included a couple of photos for everyone to check out of both the driver and passenger sides where the bonnet meets the fenders.

I seem to remember someone at the NEC back in May 1999 (possibly Chris P) talking about how to solve this problem but I can't remember what the process involved! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also on the subject of number plates, I got my US style rear number plate through the post this morning. Yes, I know some of you are thinking "Oh God a state plate, what did you go and buy that for? What's wrong with a UK plate?" Well, I think it's important to show off the car's history. After all, the fact that the DeLorean was sold almost exclusively to North America is (in my opinion) a hugely important part of the DeLorean story. For example, the car was directly designed for the American market in terms of power output. Consequently some motoring critics were unimpressed with the car's performance. Bad press early on is not good for a new company, as history will tell us. However, you only have to look in the DeLorean Gold Portfolio book to see that the Euro Spec car would have gone down much better with the motoring press. Who knows, the story might have been different if DMC had marketed the car in other countries alongside the USA?

Anyhow, arguments aside, here's a shot of it propped up on the rear fascia. Now all I have to do is buy the black plastic plate guard?£200?! Ouch!

All the best to everyone,
