First off the club insurer, Sharmans will insure you only if you're
over 25.
I'm 24 and am currently taking advantage of my Cable and Wireless "no
questions asked" soopa-doopa policy, until I get to 25. Unfortunately
it
ain't cheap on a car that gets driven once a week!
Secondly, a mate at work passed me onto a broker his mother works for,
who
DID quote me on insurance, but one of the "must-haves" was the car
must be

Lastly; importing or buying over here?! It's a tough one. I imported
mine,
and fell on my feet in a big way. I bought a non-runner with only 2353
miles
on it, and completely stock original. Bad sun-damage though which basically
means hard cracked seats and a tatty dash plus the fascias need repainting.
With a bit of TLC at my garage, it's running lovely now, and so far
including all the workshop time, parts, import tax, shipping and the
cost of
the car, I'm at about £8000. The cost was $7500, shipping was
$1250, and the
car comes in as "item of historic interest" at 5% vat and no duty.
