I had the same problem, in the end I gave up, cut the hose off the barb
at the end of metal line, and placed with standard fuel hose alone.
You must use pipe clips(ideally) or jubilee clips to secure each end, no
matter how tight you think the fit is.
Mine blew off when the return line got blocked, a quite scary experience
and a lesson well learnt :)
