There was a talk on them at the DMCH open house last year and I *think*
the general consensus was that the cost of salvaging and restoring them
would be greater than having new ones made. However, if they're coming
up anyway...
FWIW I know a company who has the facilities to use these presses. They
are in welwyn garden city and use huge hydraulic presses the size of a
house, coupled with an 800 degree C oven to form titanium jet engine
parts. Amoung other things, they make the sinks and toilets on Boeing
aircraft.
