Purple/Blue & Purple/White - in the driver footwell?
They're the wires for the buzzer box door switch. The washwipe
intermittent unit sits very close to it... perhaps a misconnected or
shorted connection...
It shouldn't be necessary to remove the whole dash. Removal of the
instrument binnacle gives good access to that area.
I doubt it's very serious, just a bit scary seeing all that smoke!
