[doc] Re: Rich H and Chrispy to the rescue :o)

Hi Nick,

cheers for the advice there, I'll give that a go at the weekend
whilst I'm doing a few other little jobs :o)

I did have to have the complete inlet manifold replaced as there was
a hole in it causing a massive vacuum leak, but I'm not sure if the
throttle body was also replaced at the same time 'in one lump' so to
speak.

I did have a new throttle body about 3 years ago, but its only
recently (since the 170bhp upgrade) that the backfiring and flames
have started). Richard thought it might be down to the poppet valves
too.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheers,

Claire

pipe 12 flats (2 turns). Then, run the engine to normal temperature
then unscrew the back one (nearest the metering flap) open until the
engine revs just increase then back it off 1.5 flats. This should
give more air bypass round the throttle plate instead of just through
the idle speed motor. Give it a go, this is how I set the engines so
that the idle oscillation is minimised.
