Hi

Do you mean the black fibreglass?

I personally wouldnt go to the hassle of painting it , have you tried 
a trim wax , back to black or something similar.

If you do still feel like painting it then it would need a good 
degreasing , priming with a plastic primer paint and then a top coat. 
Not a fun job im sure when an engine is in, what with masking off / 
overspray problems etc
