fascia repair/paint

Hi All

Just thought I'd share a couple of interesting items I've found

1) Fascia paint. With no claims that it's a perfect match or anything,
the Halfords shade "Rover Gunmetal" is a very nice dark metallic grey
for the fascias. I think it's pretty close to the later darker shade (I
have an early car). This is my first attempt and the results are pretty
good (certainly 200% better than before!!). I've gone through two cans
of Halfords grey plastic primer and three cans of paint in doing both
fascias. I'm not impressed with the lacquer. I agree with James R G that
it just accelerates cracking and doesn't really improve the look anyway.

2) I needed to fix things on both my front fascia and my front grille
and Loctite 406 is BRILLIANT. This should be available on either side of
the pond. It's listed as an "all purpose plastic and rubber adhesive".
