I am in the southern AZ desert... so I get heat and sun. According to the covercraft catalog the weathershield and the techalon have the same UV/Sun protection. Last time I bought one the weathershield was $400 and the techalon was $200. I'm at the 34th parallel, and the sun does all sorts of damage to unshielded interiors, lenses, etc. Can't imagine how much worse it is in Florida. At my latitude, the sun will destroy a Budge cover in less than a year -- they literally turn to dust.
