To be fair to the Renault mechanics, they don't have the DeLorean output flanges to work with. You would not believe how sloppy the spline fit is on Renault driveshafts Martin Sent from my BlackBerry® -----Original Message----- From: "daveswingle2" <swingle_dmc@xxxxxxxxxxx> Sender: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2012 03:21:17 To: <dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Reply-To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [DML] transmission leak along flange / output shaft splines? You only need to replace the o-ring that is inside around the stub axle. http://store.delorean.com/c-381-4-1-3-final-drive.aspx Item #1. It is at the inside end of the splines, and can be removed with a pick tool and replaced without taking anything apart other than the flange. I hate to argue with Renault mechanics but I've never seen one leak down the splines if this o-ring is in place and is the correct part.
