You only need to replace the o-ring that is inside around the stub axle. http://store.delorean.com/c-381-4-1-3-final-drive.aspx Item #1. It is at the inside end of the splines, and can be removed with a pick tool and replaced without taking anything apart other than the flange. I hate to argue with Renault mechanics but I've never seen one leak down the splines if this o-ring is in place and is the correct part.
