I agree, Tom.
However if the LEDs are grouped (3 or 5) why not add the appropriate resistor to each of the groups?
In case of failure, it will be only one group that fails, not one after another?
It's not the cost of the resistors, it's the safety and reliability that counts.
I presume Bitsyncmaster can elaborate on the subject much better than I can.
Welmoed.
P.S.: Shouldn't the subject line need changing to reflect the LED discussion?
