This is exactly what I was working on. What I found was that in the volumes I was looking at (I figured 10ish kits a year) I could not get the various parts cast/machined at a reasonable enough cost to justify a sales price of around $2500. I came up with that price target at the time because that was about the same price as replacing the whole k-jet system. The other hard and firm requirement I had was that it had to have the same fit and finish as a production vehicle coming off the line and it must be 100% reversible without any evidence (ie no wires cut, no holes drilled). I had quite a lot invested and decided to table the project because I could not meet my standards. I have recently started tooling up (cnc machines) for other projects so this may come around again. I had my car running (not great but well enough) and I was working on the hardware and fit and finish when the quotes came back from casters and machine shops and I re-ran the numbers. So I switched back to K-Jet so I could drive my car more. If anyone has questions or wants more info feel free to ask. With a complete professionally made plug-in loom, all the right pre-calibrated sensors, identical injectors and identical pressure regulator, making sure the trigger wheel and cas are accurately mounted... You might have a product. All of the above can be tuned out in the map if you want to go it alone. The problem is that the benefits are minimal until you start modifying the engine where electronic control over the ignition timing in particular is invaluable, as well as the restriction-free intake. It's a small market, and everyone who has done it to date has done it as much for the experience as for the result, in my opinion. The hangup seems to be fuel maps. Wonder how new car manufacturers get around that? Ford doesn't spend months & months setting up each vehicle individually.
