You can catch glimpses of John's exhaust system in this video, and even though he is running MSD plug wires, if you look closely at his resistor grid it is still stock (~8v into the coil -- certainly unable to power HEI plug gaps):

I won't be at the DMA Spring Social, but John might be. If you ask him nicely, he might let you test drive his car. At the 2010 Social Rob was giving people rides in it.
