Take your Dermel and cut it off - being careful of course not to mess up the body. Using a putty knife as a backing can help with that.

Hervey still sells the tool and replacement riv nuts last I looked.

If it is a real problem you can install another riv nut close by and just RTV the old nut to seal it.
