Case in point was AirFrance A380 as for knowing about jet Engines..That is what I did for 13 yrs. as a Jet engine Machinist for Pratt & Whitney...working on the Diffuser cases for military and Commercial jet engines...from a rough cast case to a finished product. And yes they have FULL bathrooms with showers(A380) for their first class passengers..including sleeping rooms..point being their sheer size makes them gas Guzzlers. Makes the 747 or any other passenger plane look quite small...BTW..a little trivia..JZD was going to use 747's to ship his cars to the USA..when he was supposed to Originally Build his factory in Porta Rico.. Boeing 777 carries up to 300 passengers and consumes about 15 gallons of fuel per minute. Airliners are much more efficient now than they used to be, primarily due to engine design and active engine management. > > Bill Robertson > #5939 > > --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "cbl302@" <cbl302@> wrote: > > > > It's not bad enough that at any moment there are hundreds of millions of motor vehicles consuming our limited oil supplies around the world..but when they build HUGE fuel guzzling jet liners with showers for their costumers use..well then you wonder why fuel prices start hovering towards 5.00 a gal. > > > > What I envision is that every rooftop will someday have solar panels on their roofs..producing electricity,as technology advances..it will become cheaper and cheaper to produce solar panels..to the point that it will become a standard part when doing a re-roof..meaning that the shingles themselves will contain the solar panels..Heck at that point you might see many people converting their deloreans to electric power..Think of it as free unlimited power..and the excess would make your power meter run in reverse(reducing your electric bill)and into the power grid to power other homes/cars...electric companies..who needs them.. > > > > If you think that sounds crazy, Forty years ago..if someone said that by 2012 you could buy a TV less than three inches thick and have a 80 inch screen and have a screen definition of such high quality it would seem better that being there in person..using tens of millions of transistors..and use LESS electricity than the largest TV screens present(at the 1972 rates) and it could easily hang on a wall..you were though as crazy nutty. > > > > Claude > > 1024 > > Bric > > > > --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "content22207" <brobertson@> wrote: > > > > > > The underlying problem with transportation in America is we have no balance.
