It looks like this comes down to terminology and usage again.  For some reason which I can neither explain nor defend, I call each individual ball a "ball bearing" and I call the object in your picture a "bearing".  You can imagine my confusion when you asked if there was a ball bearing in the photo and I saw nothing even vaguely spherical except the center swivel portion of the heim joint.
 
Glad we got all of that confusion out of the way. :)
