Marc, It must be an issue for the consumer that Sanden is trying to protect
if they say , the maker says they don't recommend it.
If not then why would they say that. They have already made their money and
moved on.

Not taking sides here, but Comparing a 30 year old compressor that has been
installed in a car, with freon in the system for all that time is NOT a good
comparison to one that has been sitting in a warehouse, that (possibly) has
had it internals exposed to the air all that time.
If the NOS compressors are still "sealed" then, it is not as big of an
issue.
