Re: [DML] Re: Best white letter tires to buy?

Find a shop with a Hunter road force balancer.  It can tell you if the assembly
is out of round:

All tires are not created equal. Most last 7 years, some do not. Your shop may
very well be correct that the shimmy is caused by the tires. One way to confirm
is to substitute known good, tires and see if the problem goes away. Make sure
you have the correct pressure. One last-ditch fix may be to dismount the tires
and remount 180 degrees on the rim. The dynamic tire balancer should be able to
show you if the tires are defective but not always, they are not spun "loaded"
ie, there is no weight on the tires. Looseness in the suspension ad steering
will exaggerate any out-of-balance condition so make sure everything is nice and
tight. There are services that can come to you and "detail" the tires. The can
fix curb rash, lettering, paint circles, raised letters, etc. How about a nice
wide white sidewall a la BTTF? With nice chrome moon hubcaps!
