Don't clamp the OEM pressure line - they will crack internally. 

It won't spill much. It doesn't seem to siphon out the tank probably due to the checkvalve on the pump and the fact that you are working above the level of the return line in the tank.

Don't take the fitting apart at the frame. Just cut the hose off and replace, most vendors are now supplying rubber hoses with clamps. If you are not replacing the hoses (but you should) there is no reason to take the ones off at the frame end.
