[DML] Re: Oil Changes

In the old days, my friends and I used to drain the old oil by suction.
The system is nowadays still in use.

However, draining the oil this way never removes all rubbish with the old oil, as is with a normal drain using the oil drain plug.

I do not recommend this system.
I can change oil without jacking up the car.
To that purpose I use a drain pan that is low enough to fit underneath the car.
Getting the plug off is a bit more difficult, as you need to use your hands in between pan and carter.
Most of the job can be done, without the pan in position, before taking the plug fully off.
Of course it's very helpful being slender :)

Welmoed.
