Hey gang... Well, I ordered a "new" angle drive kit from DMC, and will be swapping out the presently broken one at this Saturday's ODOC Tech Day. The kit came with decent-enough instructions, but I was wondering, though, why it's necessary to loosen the hub bolt? Can the A.D. be swapped without doing this? I don't think I have a 32mm socket, nor where to get one readily. Doesn't it just bolt on to the rear of the hub assembly and "poke through" ot the front and into the dust-cap, or am I missing something about how the a.d. is attached to the hub assembly? (I have not looked back there recently, and my ship manuals are at my mechanic's place) Also, what is recommended to lube the lower speedo cable with, and how to lube the entire length of the cable? Any tips/advice/BTDTs would be much appreciated! Cheers... - ed -- 1982 DMC-12 [11594] 1986.5 928S 1990 Coupe Quattro 20V 1985 Audi Coupe GT-Turbo ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
