Your mixture was set with the bad accumulator. Now that you have a
good one installed you need to adjust the mixture.

out for a spin. It ran perfectly for about 8-9 miles. After we got
back, we shut it down and checked everything over for any problems.
After about a half hour, tried to start it up, and NO GO.

accumulator. I had to go out of town for a week, so yesterday was
the first day I was able to fire it up after changing the bad
accumulator. One half second of cranking and it fired right up.
Idle was a bit low (650-700) but it was running. Wasn't able to
accelerate and as the car warmed up, I kept having to add throttle to
keep it running (up to 2000 rpm). As soon as the thermostat opened,
I let off the throttle and it died. It would not start after that.

cause this problem? And I can't put the old one back in, since it is
the one I cut in half.
