I don't understand this. The driver-side valve cover is connected to
the brass tube which goes into the bottom of the fuel mixture unit -
below the fuel metering flap. If air is allowed to enter freely
here, that is, if air were allowed to enter here because the driver-
side valve cover was removed, then it would bypass the fuel metering
flap and cause a very lean condition.
This would have the same effect as opening the "brass screws" that
everyone knows is not for this application.
So my question is, how is running without the valve covers *not* a
huge vacuum leak?
