Firstly, the rocker covers bolt into the cylinder heads and the leading
edge ones go into the timing cover, not the block.
You can buy an M7 helicoil kit to repair the thread, I can supply one if
you get stuck. On the ones into the cylinder head, you can even use a
smaller bolt and nut on the end, though this isn't exactly "proper" !
The valve cover may leak in this spot now - personally I gave up using
the rocker cover gaskets some time ago because they're really difficult
to get a perfect seal with and never if one of the rocker bolts has
stripped. I just use a small bead of silicone all the way around and
have never had a leak since.
