No, I can suck air though on a hard right turn, pedal to the floor, after having already gone thru 11 and a half gallons of gas out of the tank. I've never run out, no idea when it would suck air driving straight and level. I'm a happy customer John.

Tom, If your sucking air at 1/2 tank then there is something else wrong. At
that level gas is already in the pump due to the height of the gas in the
tank and no matter how you take off the gas isn't going to go to the back of
the tank and starve the pump.
