No PCV valve on a K-Jet equipped PRV. Instead, Douvrin used much less
efficient "calibrated nipples." Production DeLorean had one on the
cold start tube, even though Page C:02:01 of the Workshop Manual shows
two in the sides of the U pipes (typical Renault practice).>>
And a typical Workshop Manual error. I "love" all the pictures of the
engine... there are several... showing vestiges of radiator fan blades at the water
pump, even though any owner who ever looked under their engine cover knows
the radiator and the electric fans are at the other end of the car.
So what about a revised manual, as was being discussed before DCS? I haven't
said much about if for the last few weeks, but it's going forward. I've had
my nicest original scanned in professionally, expect to get the disc in the
mail by Friday. A copy is being OCR'd as a separate process. The source
materials are all annotated, and ready to edit into the new version. It will
include material from the Workshop Manual, the pertinent Bulletins, the pertinent
Parts Manual illustrations, some material from the Owner's Manual, some new
illustrations or photos, expanded section on servicing doors, a very helpful
index, all reformatted. Most of the basic text sans illustrations will be
available free on the DMCTech site for your use or abuse (and hopefully not
misuse.) Comments or corrections welcome. In cases of conflicting material, I'll
research and go with the most plausible, or include the pro and con. After
final revisions, I'll print a certain number of paper copies and you'll be able
to look at one accurate manual instead of three semi-accurate ones plus your
computer when you work on your car. Why not entirely free? Well, I'm pouring
a lot of hard earned cash into it, and it would be nice to at least get some
back. It's not a money-making deal, though... or any or all of the dealers
would have already done a revision. And no, I'm not taking reservations. I'll
wait until it's ready for the printer, then ascertain who's interested. When
will that be? This Fall, I figure. I've been accumulating stuff for years
toward doing this- about time I got it off my back and did it. Sell it thru vend
ors? Well, if they're interested, but any discussion I've had with them, they
indicated they didn't see any need. No need to ask if I have permission... I
got it from JZD in writing before he died. Time for the only JZD authorized
manual revision to get to the finish line.
