Only Farrar can speak for his decisions. Shouldn't your questions be
directed to him instead of me?
I can speak for my own actions. When Farrar asked for assistance, I
agreed to help. Having decades of experience with carburetion, Ford's
Autolites in particular, and having successfully installed such a
delivery method on my own DeLorean, I was a natural candidate.
Had Farrar wanted a MegaSquirt conversion, I would have been a very
unlikely person to approach. Had he wanted an electric conversion, I
would have been a very unlikely person to approach. Had he wanted a
3.0 engine swap, I would have been a very unlikely person to
approach, Had he wanted a Vortec, NorthStar, 350, or Nissan
replacement, I would have been a very unlikely person to approach.
Even if he wanted to continue to work with the K-Jet already on his
vehicle, I would not have been a likely candidate.
Farrar requested a particular modification for which I am qualified
to assist.
I am guilty of saying "yes."
It is true that Farrar is giving me a very short time window in which
to install his carburetion (Wednesday afternoon), but I realistically
think that can be done. I wouldn't have agreed to help him if I did
not think it was possible.
If all goes as planned, Farrar will be in Gettysburg the day
following. You can question him in person at that time, and even see
the installed components first hand. I will do my best to give him
the best assistance I can.

drastic, backward change to the car. His car will decrease in value,
lose the ability to self-adjust the idle, start hard when it's cold,
and jump back decades of technology. Either that, or he can spend 15
minutes at DCS getting his existing K-jet to run correctly with
a DeLorean mechanic who actually knows what he is doing. I guess
your time is worth a lot less than mine...
