Jason,
Strongly urge placement of a piece of hard rubber 1/8 " thick, 1/2" wide and 5" long be placed under the torsion bar retaining plate. There is a risk of the retaining plate rotating like propeller if out of control and probably breaking the window. There is a 1/4" wide ledge under the plate plus 1/4" glass window on which to position the rubber guard. Gluing a 1/8" thick by 5" wide 4" long right angle piece of rubber to the top piece provides a means for taping the rubber pad in position. There are two screws securing the retaining plate. The inside screw should be the last out and first in. I would be happy to discuss the procedure by phone if prefer. 770-536 2410
