The stock oil pressure sender is not all that great. It will either
read very low at idle or pegged all the way up when you hit the gas as
you have noticed. Marty Maier sells a replacement that will make the
gauge read more correctly. I can forward to you his ordering info
off-line if you can't find it. I don't have it handy right now.
