Bill, This is really a GM Delco-Remy part that was used on the more powerful General Motors AC equipped cars,EVEN the Roll Royce of the same time era used the same style Delco-Remy AC parts....so you have to Blame it on General Motors and NOT DMC.The thing I could never figure out is of the MILLIONS of these Blower Motors made...WHY did DMC get/engineer the reverse running Blower Motors from Delco-Remy into the Delorean, and NOT the common ones used on millions of cars?? Side by side they are exact twins, except they spin in different directions. This follows the route on ALL the Delorean Mechanical parts installed onto the Delorean...they are twins to over the counter parts, but function different, from the mass produced "normal" parts. These can be gotten off any GM car,but for some strange reason the ones used for the Delorean run in reverse from the twins that can be bought from any GM parts Department or any auto parts store. It seems strange that every part on the Delorean has a quirk,so that it cannot be matched up to the over the counter parts twins, basically everything is Delorean specific. Was this Done by Lotus engineering or DMC to make the car owner BUY only from DMC (propriety)parts.I know Ferrari does this, there is no aftermarket repair/replacement parts for a Ferrari. You have to buy Ferrari only parts.IT IS Ferrari's Secret of where their parts are made and who supplies them to Ferrari. Was DMC following the same route,it sure seems that way.Even simple things like Brake pads or oil filters or light bulbs were made hard for a owner to get a hold of over the counter.Check any part on a Delorean and I will bet that you can match it up to a exact twin on another make and Model car,but will not perform correct on a Delorean. Each and every part on a Delorean was altered by the manufacturer to only comply/work with the Delorean engineering and nothing else.ALL parts used were made Delorean specific only,in a way it sealed the car to be doomed, since DMC could have charged whatever they wanted, since again the parts were Delorean specific. In retrospec,I do remember going to a DMC parts Department (1982)when I was restoring my first Delorean...and I DID DISCOVER and was shocked at the prices for the DMC parts that I needed, which started my quest to just buy totaled parts car(s) rather than pay DMC's overpriced and bloated prices.(all my parts cars were from one month old FROM NEW BUILD and the oldest was 3 years old from new build) The Delorean vendors know this fact and they relise they have a capative market for all their items, but unlike me,back in the 1980's all I had to do was buy totaled Delorean(s) and I was all setup with "as new" parts supply..Today that choice is no long a option. ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
