Good observation Toby. It seemed that people were confusing the two O-rings.
I do stock both of these O-rings but was out of stock of the axle O-ring
when Matt ordered them. Leakage from the axle flange O-ring is very rare
however and from the diff nut virtually unheard of. I?m still sitting on all
the ones I?ve gotten over the years when purchasing dealer inventories. Now
if we were talking Lotus axle O-rings I could tell you of a horror show I
experienced with my S4S where replacing the O-rings & applying silicone to
the pins didn?t even fix the leaks. I had to disassemble it again and
install slightly thicker O-rings to solve the problem. Axle service on that
car was a lot more labor intensive than a DeLorean. The Lotus and I have
since parted company but it was a great car. Fortunately DeLorean axle
flanges aren?t as temperamental but the seals sure do like to leak.
Stainless sleeves to the rescue!
