Hi David. I have successfully beat mild plate sulfation by charging the battery backwards, then frontwards a few times, with fresh electrolyte. It didn't work on solidly sulfated batteries, and never bought me a lot of extra battery life, but it did let me delay buying new batteries a few times. I've tried that technique several times, and it failed more than it worked. I suspect it just chews up the plate surface, creating a little more surface area, while leaving the sulfated portions unaffected. Charging a battery backwards is inherently risky. I wouldn't recommend it. Hooking up AC, if they mean 120V ac, seems VERY dangerous to me. Never been proven to my knowledge. ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
