Just as a note on the automatic transmission. I have a man that can rebuild
them and I have on the web site 5 hard kits for the automatic to rebuild
with. I also have a Renault parts disk of all the parts for the transmission
and a man in France that has been very nice to go over to the dealer and
pick up parts for met. That's where the automatic filters come from. There
is no aftermarket to choose from.
The biggest problem is the dollar is so under valued that it takes $1.50
dollars to buy something in Euro that cost 1 Euro.
It also takes $1.96 to buy something in Great Britain that cost 1 Pound.
This is why some parts cost more and some people discontinue dealing because
the dollar is so under valued.

It's an old Renault transmission that was long ago superceeded by a 4
speed unit (and before you get excited, that can't be reversed for
rear mounting). There're transmission specialists in europe who'll
rebuild it, at a price! AFAIK parts are still available from Renault,
but if DMC have NOS stuff, it's almost certainly cheaper from them.
