Al, The only reason I disagree is that with out the bias resistance the bulb offers it drops the voltage to the regulator. The regulator doesn't require 13.8 to 14.5 volts to operate and with out the bulb it severely shortens the life of the regulator. Look at the melted regulators on the Motorola's and you will see what I mean. You can run it till the regulator crocks' and it cost $100.00 to replace to put in a Led. You will also notice the led's will come on from what I'm told more often giving a false impression of what going on. I also guess why we are so worried about the current draw of the bulbs VS Led's. Another group is talking Led's replacing brake lights for the short amount of time they are on. My question is ? Why. I just don't get it. If your electrical system is that bad, then there has to be other more important problems you may not be aware of. Although John disagrees, with the original Motorola alternator, the LED is quite sufficient to get the alternator going.
