Re: [DML] Bogus Miles on Cars

There are ways to tell real low-mileage cars from cars that aren't. Things
like pedals, carpet, seat bottoms and bolsters, seat adjuster rails,
finishes on the steering wheel, turn signal switch lever, and armrests
are just a few places to look. They have wear patterns and rates that
track with use.

Other things to look for are pits and scratches on window glass,
fading on plastic surfaces exposed to sunlight, any uneveness
to painted finishes that would indicate repainting.

Low mileage cars shouldn't look too perfect either.

I'm not one to worry about mileage. I would be more interested
in full documentation on an older car that I planned to use. If
it's a project, then it really doesn't matter, since I would be
redoing anything I thought needed it.
