Thanks, David! Out of curiosity I tightened all three air adjustment screws down to see what would happen. The engine now idles stable at 1,000rpm. It could be a coincidence, but it's good enough for me. :) I no longer have to jam my foot on the brake at stoplights! It's bad for my shins.
