John, I'm not sure you understood me
The more grippy material works by being more abrasive - and I'd rather
that abrasion was aimed at the pressure plate than at the flywheel - the
effect would be exactly the same except that you'd accellerate the wear
on the part that you replace! A new EFI flywheel from Renault is over $1000
The actual clutch in my Venturi, which is the same as an Alpine A610, is
identical to the DeLorean's except for being much stronger to take the
300hp and 350ft-lbs torque.
