So your hole was in the oil galley too, eh?
Every person I've met with this problem had the hole in an oil galley.
Mine was passenger side (cylinders 1-3) -- which side was yours?
Perhaps there's a common engineering weakness in the galleys that's
getting us (metal too thin?). The only reason I can think for those
casting spars is to reduce thickness of the engine top without losing
strength.
My Renault block sat for 10 years or so -- did yours sit as well?
