The best advice I can give is to clean out the Valley as best as 
possible ideally with drill monted wire brushes and paint the area 
with 'Glyptal' paint that seals porus ally blocks, Usually used on 
the inside of an engine casting to seal them, however IF you clean 
the out side properly it does prevent the ally being eaten away.
