... and thus began the fevered competition between the vendors to be the
first to bring stainless steel curb feelers to the community:
In Houston, all work on testing headlight switches and building
replacement dashes ground to a halt.
John Hervey quickly adapted some originally manufactured for '72 chevy
novas...
Rob had them custom made, not just stainless steel, but also in jade
green electroplated.
Ken built 3 sets to try out on raffle cars, but he's quiet about how he
markets them.
Delorean One sold them for $5400 a set, but he begrudgingly buys them
from Houston because he has to.
Marty built a set that was adjustable, and gave a smoother ride.
Martin had a set that mounted to the left side of the car, not the
right.
VideoBob sold a number of them, built from LN-46 masts.
In The Netherlands, Ed Uding built his out of polyurethane, but the
exchange rate was a kiler.
The demand for the product was so great that Zilla actually started
manufacturing them too...
In the end it was Toby that cornered the market though, he packaged
them in a nice ziplock bag, gave great wiring instructions, and tied
them in to his wings-a-loft controller. Kudos Toby!
