Some number of devices are always on. In the Line voltage world these are
phantom loads and although they are small, they add up to HUGE power draws
on the electrical grid.
In the case of the DeLorean, things like the clock, some radios, wireless
door locks, security systems and similar always draw a bit of power. You
should never see the circuit go to zero power draw.
