If the post is asking a question of the moderating team or making an incorrect 
observation about the list, I see no reason to go through the extra steps of
moderating the post through, waiting for it to arrive, creating a response
and then moderating that through to the list.  It is much more convenient to
add an appropriately identified response to the original post.  It also reduces
the opportunity for the thread to spool out of control before the moderator 
can post a response.
