It CAN be driven if you have a dealer plate or transport tag as I do. I  
would NOT drive it because of what it is and what it's worth, but it can be  taken 
for short rides if the owner wishes. As far as anyone in the DeLorean  
community buying it...that's not going to happen. They all had the chance for  the 
past 5 months for a lot less money than I'm going to get for it at the  Pebble 
Beach auction. I will be there at the auction and hope to secure contact  
between the new owner and the DeLorean community.
