I just replaced my distributor cap and rotor yesterday too, even easier
as I had the intake manifold off.
I don't think I'm getting good ignition on one of my cylinders either,
the engine shakes a lot.
I'm planning removing the air horn , the throttle spool, the idle speed
motor and tube, disconnect the vacuum solenoid from the back of the mix
unit, at the and finally the two bolts holding the entire mix unit in
position on top of the manifold and I HOPE to slide the entire thing
toward me far enough to check my distributor without having to
disconnect everything at the fuel distributor.
I figure I have little to lose in trying it anyway
Tom

Subject: [DML] Still running 2700 ohms...
Does anyone have a 'simple" method for gaining access to the distributor
other than removing all the hoses on the fuel distributor....
