I tend to agree with the majority of what I'm hearing from the group
on this topic. I'm only 27, and my car is 25, so I figure in car
years- that's bound to demand some fixing-up! And again. And...again.
*grr* But I figure, it a very unique vehicle, worthy of a little more
care and attention than most other old cars. Mine, having only 87K
miles or so, has a few irritating problems. Since I have to work full
time and can't afford college anyway, the DeLorean is almost like
having a kid for me. But hey, she's worth it. [There's probably
sometime down the road when I'll end up having a big family that needs
some sort of gas guzzling SUV- but that's why they (almost) invented
the DMC-80 bus lol I'm obsessed] Seriously though, if you really love
the car but remember it's "just a car," read up on the basic
maintenance/repair, chat and befriend other nice DeLorean owners, and
just plain enjoy driving the darned old thing, well it's honestly a
fun experience IMHO. No air-conditioning, deformed lower link arms,
shaky steering, OEM alternator...I can't begin to describe the
paranoia I feel about breaking down- er I mean, uh, the fun! Yeah the
fun, driving it. And stuff. Even if it doesn't always make girls look.
:) The people I know are a cool bunch as well. Very friendly. As I
told my dad, "This car may be kind of a piece of junk, but it's MY
piece of junk!" And honestly, it feels great to say that.
Even when...Mustangs pass me or something. Sulk, scowl. hahaha joking
it's all good

If yours is the "car from hell," then mine is
"The 5-speed from Purgatory"
